Guidelines To Find Adoration Sub

Adoration Substitutes

A strong Adoration program is built on the foundation of its substitute network.  The more substitutes we have to backfill regular Adorers during times of need the better and stronger the entire program will be.  We know there are people hesitant to commit to a weekly hour of Adoration because they’re concerned they will have trouble finding someone to Adore in their time slot if they are unable to be there for a particular hour.

The way the AdorationPro software handles substitute requests is one of its strongest features.   When an individual volunteers to be a substitute they are able to specify the exact hours and days of the week they are available to be called upon.  When an Adorer submits a request for a sub, the software matches the Adorers time slot to the list of available substitutes matching that time slot, and sends an eMail request to only those substitutes.  When a sub accepts the request the system blocks out all other potential volunteers from accepting that hour for Adoration.  Both the requesting party, and the accepting party, get a confirmation eMail recapping the substitute transaction.  If a potential sub, receiving an eMail request, is unable to help at that time, they simply ignore the email - no action is required.

To enter a sub request simply goto www.adorationpro.org/ihmmi and click on the "Find A Sub" button on the bottom of the page.  Enter the password "Subpass".  The next screen gives you the option to electronically request a sub (1st option), to get a list of contact information for all subs so you can manually request a sub (2nd option), or see the list of all sub requests that are currently still "Open" or that have been accepted and by whom.

If you selected the 1st option (Auto Sub Request) a simple fill-in format appears.  Enter the data elements then click on "Send Sub Request".  That simple.

General Observations:
  • We currently have approximately 105 people volunteering to be a substitute for Adoration
  • The software works well if the request for a substitute is made within 14 days of the date help is needed.  It seems the closer to the ‘need’ the quicker the response.
  • Those requests made for more than 14 days in advance are generally ‘slow’ to be accepted.
  • If you have been waiting more than 7 days for a response to your sub request it is suggested that you call or eMail from the manual list. Please don't resubmit your request as that creates a duplicate request.
  • The act of submitting a sub request through AdorationPro does not alleviate the Adorer from finding a substitute.  You have to get a positive response from your request to make sure  someone will be in attendance that hour.
  • Suggested that if your request is for a date 14 or more days in advance, or for an extended period of time, you use the old fashion manual contact method.
  • A list of available subs and their contact information is available within the AdorationPro software by clicking on the “Find A Sub” tab.  Password (subpass) is required to access this information.  A paper base list of subs is also available in the Prayer Intention book in the chapel for people without eMail or Internet.
  • If there is more than one person assigned to a specific hour your first contact should be to the prayer partner to verify they are planning to be there.  The goal is to have a minimum of  two people assigned to every hour, only one needs to be there.
  • When a sub signs into the kiosk they can choose to click the name of the person they are subbing for, or they can register as a ‘visitor’.

Thank you to all regular Adorers and to the many people volunteering to be substitutes for your work and dedication to the success of this ministry.  The personal blessings and blessings to our parish as a result of Adoration are immeasurable.

Sitting in solitude and silence in the presence of our God is one of the greatest gifts God offers His children.  Take full advantage of this great gift by becoming a regular Adorer and personally experience this ‘taste of heaven’.
