The Feast Of Your Guardian Angel

Our Guardian Angels’ Feast Day - Oct 02.

Padre Pio, during his lifetime, had a beautiful relationship with his guardian angel; often he would send his angel on errands as described in his biography - we could learn a lot from his relationship.

“Have great devotion … to this good angel.  How consoling it is to know that near us is a spirit who, from cradle to tomb, does not leave us even for an instant, not even when we dare to sin.  And this heavenly spirit guides and protects us as a friend, a brother/sister.  But it is extremely consoling to know that this angels prays without ceasing for us; offers God all our actions, our thoughts, our desires, if they are pure.  Do not forget this invisible companion, always present, always ready to listen to us even more, ready to console us … Always keep your angel present to your mind’s eye.  Often remember the presence of this angel.  Thank your angel, pray to your angel, keep your angel in good company.  Open yourself up to your angel and confide your sufferings to your angel.  Have a constant fear of offending the purity of your angel’s gaze … Turn to your angel in times of supreme anxiety and you will experience beneficial help.  Never say that you are alone in sustaining the battle against our enemies.  Never say you have nobody to whom you can open up and confide.  You would do this heavenly messenger a grave wrong.“

A good way to thank your angel for the support received is to take your angel to the Adoration Chapel.  Your Guardian Angel is always with you, so it stands that if you visit the chapel, your angel too is in the presence of God in this special way.  I have to believe that that favor received by your angel is returned to you a hundred fold.

It’s The Little Things

“It’s amazing how a simple act of committing to even a short time of regular Adoration makes such a huge difference to the rest of your life. You can carry that moment of being in His presence with you long after you’ve left the church or chapel. His grace sustains you in every moment, especially in moments of temptation. Temptation becomes easier to resist when you’re spending more time in Adoration. Sometimes, it really is that straightforward.” (Ruth Kennedy - CatholicLink)

Find an Adoration Chapel close to you.  Make a visit to see how comfortable it makes you feel.  If it's something you think you would like to do more of, see if there is a way to sign up for a committed weekly hour of Adoration.  If you're unable to commit to an hour that's OK; just make a commitment in your heart to let Jesus know you will frequently visit Him in the chapel.  It's amazing how frequent short chapel visits lead to a desire to spend more time in His presence.  There is no better time to start than NOW!

Rosary Of The Seven Sorrows

Devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows

The Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows on September 15th is a time to deepen our devotion to Mary by reflecting on her sufferings.  Many Catholics pray the Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows or meditate on the sorrows through the Rosary of the Seven Sorrows.  These devotions help us connect with Mary, bringing our own sorrows to her for comfort and guidance.

As we face our own challenges, we can find inspiration in Mary’s example, knowing that she intercedes for us and walks with us in our darkest moments.
On this Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, let us turn to Mary, seeking her guidance and comfort, and finding strength in her suffering.  During the Marian Apparitions at Kibeho, Rwanda beginning November 1981, Our Lady specifically asked us the pray the Rosary of the Seven Sorrows to find repentance.

Grace Is Available Just Sitting Quietly In God's Presence And Doing Nothing

Grace Enters Your Life

Do yourself a great favor - go to a local Catholic church, at a time other than Mass time, or an Euharistic Chapel and simply go in and spend time in silence with God.  You don't have to have an agenda and don't have to have a prayer book.  The object is to simply sit in His presence and let Him do the work.  He will be so glad to see you that when you leave you will have a beautiful feeling in your heart.  Give it a try.
