“Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament has His hands full of graces and He is ready to bestow them on anyone who asks for them”  (St Peter of Alcantara).  Our Lord Jesus Christ wants us to come and visit Him at our local Catholic Church and make a “Holy Hour” (an hour spent in Eucharistic Adoration) whenever we can.  The Eucharist is the Real Presence of Jesus: He is present body, blood, soul and divinity.  He is our Savior and our Friend.  What a joy it is to spend time with Him!

Venerable Fulton J. Sheen enthusiastically promoted the making of Holy Hours during his lifetime.  He stated, “During a Holy Hour we grow more and more into His (Christ’s) likeness.”  He also remarked, “The only time our Lord asked the Apostles for anything was the night He went into agony.  Not for activity did He plead, but for an Hour of companionship.”

Can’t you find a little companionship time to spend with Him in our Adoration Chapel?

Saint Pope John II in his encyclical letter, Ecclesia de Eucharist, draws our attention to the fact that, “In the Eucharist we have Jesus, we have his redemptive sacrifice, we have his resurrection, we have the gift of the Holy Spirit, we have adoration, obedience and love of the Father.” All of this Jesus gives us if we only meet him in the Adoration Chapel, and sit quietly in his Presence surrendering to his action within our heart and soul.

Jesus loves us beyond measure.  One way He asks us to return love and appreciation of all He does for us is to spend one quiet hour with Him each week in Eucharistic Adoration.  “Where your treasure is, there is your heart …”, “Could you not watch one hour with Me?” (Mt 6:21; 26:40)

Express your love by committing to an hour of adoration by visiting                                    your closest Adoration Chapel. The rewards are heavenly.

I'm Busy Jesus - Not Now!

 Jesus - Not Now!

Oh Jesus I just don’t have time to believe You today because I’m too busy with work, with family and pickleball; Jesus I do Love You and I hope I will get around to showing that Love tomorrow but right now I’m in a hurry; I know Jesus that I am supposed to believe that You are present in the Eucharist, it’s not that I don’t, it’s that I’m not able to give it the thought it needs to improve our relationship but I will try harder next week.  How does Jesus reply to that?

Maybe He doesn’t … 

Maybe He knows it’s not the right time to try to give you an answer because you’re not receptive?  Maybe He simply, as the saying goes, gives you more rope.  Regardless of how much rope you have God knows you are holding onto the other end.  As long as you don’t let go He knows your mind and heart can be changed.  Through His Love and by His Grace that change will work from the inside-out, and you will feel His presence.  You can start moving in that direction by simply stopping by the Adoration Chapel and ask Him for His help.

An Abundant Amount of Time

An opportunity to improve your spiritual life by doing nothing … that’s right nothing.
If you would sit quietly in the true presence of our Lord Jesus Christ by visiting Him in the Adoration Chapel, He will do all the work and you will notice an improvement in your relationship with Him.  God knows how important ‘time’ is to us, so if we are willing to give Him one hour a week He returns ‘time’ to us abundantly.  Give it a try.

"Time" - God's Precious Gift

A Good Steward Of Time

     "Though even thinking about the subject of time may prove discomforting, it is not a bad idea - especially at the beginning of a new year.

     As we look at 2026, we can think of it as a block of time.  We see 12 months, 52 weeks, 365 days, 8,750 hours, 525,600 minutes, 31,536,000 seconds.  And all is a gift from God.  We have done nothing to deserve it, earn it, or purchase it.  Like the air we breathe, time comes to us as a part of life.

     The gift of time in not ours alone.  It is given equally to each person.  Rich and poor, educated and ignorant, strong and weak - every man, woman and child has the same twenty-four hours every day.

     Another important thing about time is that you cannot stop it.  There is no way to slow it down, turn it off, or adjust it.  Time marches on.

     And you cannot bring back time.  Once it is gone, it is gone.  Yesterday is lost forever.  Tomorrow is uncertain.  We may look ahead at a full year's block of time, but we really have no guarantee that we will experience any of it.

     Obviously, time is one of our most precious possessions.  We can waste it.  We can worry over it.  We can spend it on ourselves.  Or, as good stewards, we can invest it in the Kingdom of God.

     The new year is full of time.  As the seconds tick away, will you be tossing time out the window, or will you make every minute count?” (Author Unknown)

Spend one hour a week in the Adoration Chapel offering part of your most precious possession to the God Who made you and Who died for you, so that you could spend eternity in His presence where time will not be a limiting factor.

Your Advent Opportunity

Advent Gives You A Blessed Opportunity

This Advent, as at the beginning of all Advents, the Church encourages us to lift our heads, trust in Jesus’ saving love and make room for him in our hearts, to discover hope amidst life's’ anxieties.  As we begin the season of Advent we need to take time to spiritually prepare for Christmas and the coming of Our Lord.  In every direction we turn we will be reminded and encouraged to “prepare” for Jesus’ coming into the world and to remember the real meaning of Christmas.

Prayer is the secret of preparation.  One of the best ways to pray is to spend time in Eucharistic Adoration in our chapel.  A popular definition of ‘prayer’ is ‘relationship with God’.  What a beautiful thing it would be if at the end of the next four weeks you could honestly say your relationship with God had improved.  Find time in each of the next four weeks to go to the chapel and simply sit in the presence of God.  You don’t even have to have an agenda - a simple prayer such as ‘Jesus, please help me improve my relationship with you’ - then just sit back and while contemplating the Holy Eucharist let God do the work: Nothing else to do, except to say “Thank You God” before you leave.

“I am with you always …” and in his great and wonderful plan of salvation remember that he has been awaiting for you in his real presence for twenty centuries.

Jesus Invites You!

 Did You Get Your Invitation?

If in tomorrow’s mail you received an envelope addressed to you and postmarked from ‘Vatican City’ I bet like most of us you would be extremely excited?  Right?  When opened you find a letter from the Pope inviting you to spend an hour with him praying before the Real Presence in our chapel - would you move heaven and hell to meet him there?  I bet you would go to any length to make sure your schedule allowed you to meet the Pope and pray with him in our chapel.

Now expand your thinking and realize that it’s not the Pope inviting you; but Jesus Christ Himself.  Jesus is calling you by name to come and pray with him.  Contemplate that for a moment and let it sink in.  Would you agree, an invitation from Jesus would have a higher priority than one from the Pope?  Jesus offers you an ‘open’ invitation to meet Him for prayer in our adoration chapel.  Why do so many of us hide that invitation in the kitchen junk drawer?  Have we lost our sense of sacred?

We’re so fortunate because we still have the opportunity to improve our relationship with God, and take advantage of all the gifts and blessings he wants to give us.

Ask any soul in purgatory if they would have done anything different while on earth.  I bet they would say ‘Yes’, and their answers would revolve around the desire to have spent more time in the Real Presence of God.

To be honest I wouldn’t expect an invitation in the mail from the Pope.  But I can honestly tell you the invitation from Jesus is REAL and it’s extended to you at this very moment and never expires and automatically renews.

By the way, the answer to that first question is YES.

We all know Jesus asked the Father to forgive those who were crucifying him - because they didn’t know what they were doing.  He doesn't say that to us, why? Because if we have reached the age of reason, we do know what we are doing and too often we tell him by our actions we don’t need him. 

When we do that we separate ourselves from a loving merciful God.  Will God forgive us?  Yes, of course.  But … we have to ask!  And sadly too many so called ‘Catholics’ have been living a separate life from the church too long and the idea of asking for help from the one who made us doesn’t even enter the mind as a thought.

You don’t have to ask with words; your actions speak volumes.  A good place to start is in the closest Adoration Chapel.

'Time' - We All Have Less Than Yesterday

Make Your Time Count

Many of us today tend to give emphasis to feeling good and being accepted in society.  Winning political victories, attaining financial success, unhindered sensuality, and being famous seem to be the most important things for the many, even within the Church.  Even those who are serious about eternity often give up because of their sins and sufferings.  We are no longer “working out our salvation with fear and trembling” (Phil. 2:12) because we have ignored the dire warning of our Lord Jesus Christ: “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?” (Mk. 8;36). 

We all know the time we have from the present until the time we die, is all the time we have left to invest in our heavenly retirement program.  Too many people have a thought in the back of their mind that if they don’t think about death it will go away.  Not True!  Whether we think of death or not, it will still come our way.  Every day, every choice we make brings us closer to our judgement.  Start now making a difference in your relationship with God that will affect your eternal judgement.  So, get off the couch and get on your knees - make a positive change while you still can.  Try a visit to the Adoration Chapel.

The magic of Adoration in part is that the more often you participate, the longer you want to stay, and the deeper you enter into quiet and listening.  Soon you learn to trust his voice and are able to discern his advise.

Mary’s Request For The Rosary

Tuesday, October 7 is the Memorial to Our Lady of the Rosary.  The Rosary is one of the most popular prayer forms in the Catholic world.  

The Rosary evolved over centuries, with roots in ancient practices.  Early practitioners used beads or knots to count prayers and this method existed long before the modern Rosary was developed.  The prayers being said and counted were 150 Psalms.  Often called a ‘poor man’s psalter’: the laity who could not read the 150 psalms, adopted this counting method to pray 150 “Our Fathers” instead.  This practice became widespread across Europe.

The rise of the Hail Mary from the 11th century onward replaced the recitation of the “Our Father” with reciting 150 Hail Marys instead.  The prayer grew in stages, incorporating scriptural passages from the Annunciation and Visitation (mysteries) before its final form was approved at the Council of Trent in the 16th century.

The Rosary is one of the most popular prayer forms of those visiting the Adoration Chapel and it’s a wonderful place to start if you are new to Adoration.  To help appreciate the importance of the rosary it’s noted that in five of the sixteen Marian Apparitions approved by the church as ‘worthy of belief’, our Lady specifically asks for daily recitation of the Rosary.  Won’t you do your best to fulfill her request?

In order to increase our understanding of God’s great mysteries we have to be able to leave the place we are at on our Spiritual Journey and enter into a new phase of understanding.  This leaving is the first step of spiritual growth allowing us to open ourselves to the deeper mystery of the Real Presence.  This openning gives us the opportunity to increase our hope, compassion and mercy.  It is the promise delivered and the potential realized of unity between Creator, created and creation.  It is Love!  And it is given to us freely asking only that we open oursevles to it.

Stop by the Adoration Chapel often to ask God for his help to increase your understanding and growth in knowledge of the Real Presence.  Remember Jesus said “seek and you will find”.

How To Find A Calm Heart And Peace Of Mind

Whenever Jesus wanted to recenter and reconnect with God, he went to the wilderness - to the mountains, to the desert, to the sea, to the garden.  What did he find there? …  God’s creation has a patient way of silently receiving our thoughts, ponderings, complaints, objections, hopes, dreams, all of everything stirring around our heads … Bringing calm to our hearts and peace to our minds … find your wilderness, mountains, desert, sea or garden in our Adoration Chapel, simply by sitting silently in his presence and learning.

Once we open ourselves to the deeper mystery of real presence, we are able to glimpse the magnificence of the gift.  The Body and Blood of Christ is so much more than a physical specimen.  It is the soothing balm, a healing salve.  It is hope, compassion, and mercy.  It is the promise delivered and the potential realized of unity between Creator, creating, and creation.  It is love.  And it is given to us freely, asking only that we open ourselves to it.  So don’t remain ‘closed’ but ‘open’ yourself to finding a calm heart and peace of mind.  Start by spending time in the Adoration Chapel on a regular basis.

By Faith Be In His Presence

The Magic of Faith

Faith is one of the great gifts God has given us.  We can visit the Adoration Chapel and through Faith know we are truly in His Presence and because Jesus is not limited by space and time; sit at the table during the Last Supper, or kneel at the manger along with the Wise Men, or stand next to the weeping Blessed Mother on Calvary.  How is this possible?  Because God has no limits, and for God everything is present.  Believe in his presence and contemplate being with him at any event during his human life.
