The Eucharist Holds Many Gifts

Christ’s Presence In The Eucharist

Saint Pope John II in his encyclical letter, Ecclesia de Eucharist, draws our attention to the fact that, “In the Eucharist we have Jesus, we have his redemptive sacrifice, we have his resurrection, we have the gift of the Holy Spirit, we have adoration, obedience and love of the Father.” All of this Jesus gives us if we only meet him in the Adoration Chapel, and sit quietly in his Presence surrendering to his action within our heart and soul.

New Life Can Be Your's

Jesus Offers You New Life

“The Holy Trinity dwells in our hearts to be loved and adored by grace.  Grace is a participation in the life of the Trinity that flows through the Cross of Christ into the depths of our being.  Producing all kinds of beautiful thoughts and desires, this new life allows God to give Himself to us so that we can enjoy His presence more and more.  A holy thought that moves us to love makes our mind like Christ, and the stirring of holy affections that move us to love and devotion renders our heart like the Holy Spirit.”  (Fire From Above - Dr Anthony Lilles)

No relationship can survive without quality time together.  Find a convenient hour during your week and improve your relationship with God by spending time with him in Adoration.  If you improve your relationship with the Holy Spirit you’ll improve your relationship with the Trinity.  Wow, that’s a force multiplier you can’t deny.

Read The Post - Discover The Secret

What’s The Secret?

According to St John Paul II, “Christ’s resurrection is the strength, the secret of Christianity.  It is not a question of mythology or of mere symbolism, but of a concrete event.  It is confirmed by sure and convincing proofs.  The acceptance of this truth, although the fruit of the Holy Spirit’s grace, rests at the same time on a solid historical base.”

By trading some of your couch time for chapel time you enhance that positive internal change brought about by the Indwelling Trinity.  There is no ‘down side’ - you have EVERYTHING to gain.  Why not start today?

The Man On The Middle Cross Is There For Your Salvation

Cost of Salvation

The man on the middle cross loves you so much he agreed to die for your salvation.

This is Holy Week and we should note that the profound silence of Holy Saturday is not a day of sadness but a moment of our being placed into the tomb with Christ and of contemplating the mystery that reason cannot fathom without the help of him who reads the secrets of hearts and knows what is the desire of the Spirit.  Ask the Holy Spirit this week to silently move your heart to greater understanding of the mysteries of the death and resurrection of Our Lord.

Also ask the Holy Spirit to increase your fervor for the personal blessings available to you through Eucharistic Adoration.  If not a ‘committed’ adorer, it may be time to become one.

Top Reasons To Begin Adoration

Top Three Reasons To Begin Eucharistic Adoration

Adoration gives you the opportunity to sit in ‘silence’ and listen to God.  The language of God is ‘silence’.  If we can learn to hear God in the silence, then we can hear and see and taste and smell and touch God in everything.
- Adoration helps us rely on the Holy Spirit and live a life of obedience in prayer.  We are transformed from someone asking for a sign, to someone seeking sight through understanding.  Adoration helps to maintain a daily prayer practice the rest of the week.
- Adoration softens the Human Condition and helps us grow spiritually.  As you spend more time in Adoration God begins to communicate with you on a more profound level than that of the five senses.  God’s word moves from your ‘head’ to your ‘heart’.

Jesus delights in being with us.  Eucharistic Adoration is a beautiful way to sit in his presence and improve our relationship with him.  People willing to commit an hour a week to Adoration are always needed.  Think about it … It’s truly a ‘win-win’ that you can take with you to eternity.

“We should spend as much time thanking God for his benefits as we do asking for them.”

Eucharistic Adoration Results In Thanksgiving

The Greatest Thanks

By its very nature Eucharistic Adoration involves Thanksgiving to the Father, through the Son, for the Son, in the Holy Spirit.  By offering our thanksgiving of love from the very depths of our heart for the most divine gift of the Holy Eucharist we begin the process of offering thanksgiving that will not only never cease, but will even increase to its perfection in heaven.

During Eucharistic Adoration we should try to reflect on how God lowered Himself to become man, suffering the many indignities of His passion and death, surrendering Himself to both love and the hate of His creatures, as He continues to do today.

Eucharistic Adoration is a time to practice lifting up our thanksgiving to the altar and throne of the heavenly Jerusalem where our hearts, minds, souls and one day our body, shall be offering the greatest thanksgiving a creature can give their Creator:  The gift of their entire self.

Don’t wait - begin your practice today.  Become a ‘committed’ adorer.

'OPEN' Adoration Hours

We Are In Need Of People To Cover ‘Open’ Adoration Hours

All hours of our Adoration schedule are open to additional assigned adorers.  There are however some hours in specific need of new or additional adorers.  The Church asks that two people be present when the Eucharist is exposed for Adoration.  Our current committed schedule has 44% of our hours covered by only one committed adorer.  There are many opportunities to help.  If you are not currently committed to Adoration we ask you to pray to the Holy Spirit and ask the question if Adoration is right for you.  If you would like to commit to an hour you can sign-up by going directly to the AdorationPro software and registering for an hour with God.  If you have questions, please contact Tom Kartes at 616-325-9305 or via eMail at tjkartes44@gmail.com

Jesus and Our Mother Always Ready To Help

Calling on Jesus and Mary for Help!

“O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore you profoundly.  I offer you the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, scarileges and indifferences by which he is offended.  By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners”.    (The Angel of Peace at Fatima, third apparition)

The prayer of quiet is just ‘resting’ in the Lord’s presence, and is a good start to asking for the conversion of sinners.

Jesus Is Not Alone

Jesus Is Not Alone

There’s a world of difference between knowing God through study and knowing God through love - let your love shine by spending more time in His presence and the presence of so many others.  Jesus is never, ever, alone in our chapel … His Father is with Him, the Holy Spirit is with Him, His Mother is with Him, the patriarchs and profits are with Him, the Apostles are with Him, all the angels and saints are with Him … if you’re not a regular adorer, why aren’t you with Him?

As we transition from Summer to Fall this may be a good time to make a commitment to spend time with other members of the Body of Christ in committed adoration.  Simply go to www.adorationpro.org/ihmmi - click on “Weekly Commitment”, then add your name to any hour that would be convenient to your schedule.  Do it now while it’s on your mind.

"I do believe ... but"

 “Help My Unbelief”

Three weeks ago we quoted Fr John Hardon SJ saying “the simplest way to express what Christ asks us to believe about the Real Presence is that the Eucharist is really HE.
The Real Presence is the real Jesus”.  Two weeks ago we reminded everyone that the Council of Trent in 1551 declared that Jesus Christ is really and truly present in the Eucharist, and the Council declared this a Dogma of Faith.

‘Dogma’ is defined as that part of doctrine which has been divinely revealed and which the Church has formally defined and declared to be believed as revealed.  So this is not what the Church is telling us to believe; this is what God Himself is telling us to believe.  Recently a Pew Survey reported that 69% of declared Catholics do not believe in the Real Presence.  Imagine … 2 out of 3 Catholics don’t believe what God Himself tells us is true.

If you’re one of the non or half hearted believers it may be time to commit to praying during this Advent period asking the Holy Spirit for the grace to increase your belief in the Real Presence.  You’re encouraged to visit the chapel; kneel before the Holy Eucharist and pray the prayer the father of the son harboring the demon prayed before Jesus as told in Mark 9:21-24; “I do believe; help my unbelief”.

Jesus told that father “All things are possible to him who believes”.  Your belief in the Real Presence won’t go from cold to hot over night … you won’t hear thunder or feel the earth shake … but know every prayer is answered.  If you want to succeed you have to show God you’re sincere, and don’t quit asking until you get what you want.

Experience God's Love Through Adoration

St John Paul II for World Day for the Missions in 2004 wrote: "To evangelize the world, we need experts in the celebration of, in the Adoration of, and in the contemplation of the Eucharist".  Through Adoration, parishioners are experiencing God's love.  This leads them to become involved in their parish community, which gives them the Eucharist.  In their mission, they are at the same time supporting the Church and interceding for the world.  In other words, their Adoration becomes Trinitarian: in adoring the Son, they are led to the Father.  In this dynamic, they receive a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit which leads them to involve themselves in the Church and the world.

Heartfelt Adoration

 Heartfelt Adoration

Adoration must be “in spirit”, which in a sense makes it a loving act of will that as a human being we can do anywhere and at anytime.  You don’t have to be in church, or in the chapel, to adore God in your heart.  The secret to being successful to spontaneously adore in your heart is to condition the heart through ‘chapel time’.

Only the Blessed Mother was able to adore anytime and anywhere … the rest of us have to work at it to be successful.

Adoration ‘in spirit’ allows you to pause whatever it is you are doing, and simply bring to mind the presence of God in your heart.  It is a beautiful and rewarding practice which truly is a gift of the Holy Spirit.  If you cannot do this … you need to practice and to pray.

If you are not a regular Adorer in our Chapel, here is a good place to start:  Available Schedule

God's Beautiful Silence

The wisdom of the Eastern tradition teaches that the more one increases in knowledge of God, the more one realizes that God is unknowable.  Only through what Pope John Paul II calls “adoring silence” does one grow closer to experiencing God’s presence.

St Faustina learned this mysterious language of God called silence: 'The Holy Spirit does not speak to a soul that is distracted and garrulous.  He speaks by His quiet inspiration to a soul that is recollected, to a soul that knows how to keep silence (Diary, 553)

A deep abiding joy is one of the fruits of an hour of Adoration
