Feast - Our Lady Of The Rosary

O u r   L a d y  O f   T h e   R o s a r y

On October 7, we celebrate the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.  Known for several centuries by the alternate title of “Our Lady of Victory”.  The feast day takes place in honor of a 16th century naval victory which secured Europe against Turkish invasion.  Pope St Pius V attributed the victory to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who was invoked on the day of the battle through a campaign to pray the Rosary throughout Europe.

The power of the Rosary and the courage of the Catholic navies obtained a historic triumph over the Turks, and saved Christiandom from the advancing Turkish power.

Today, we desperately need Our Lady’s intervention through the Holy Rosary to turn back the moral, spiritual and physical treat we face as a nation.

Our Lady will overcome all these threats if we turn to Her in confident prayer and courageous action, just like She saved Christiandom in 1571.  Join the legions of fellow Christians who pray the Rosary daily.

Sacrifice of 'Time'

Jesus tell us in "In Sinu Jesu" that faith in the mystery of the Most Holy Eucharist grows in proportion to the time one gives him in adoration.  It's not enough that we go to Holy Mass often if we do not approach him and remain with him in the sacrament of his love.  Nothing can replace the intimate experience of his Eucharistic friendship - and this is the experience that he offers to us if we seek his Eucharistic Face and offer a sacrifice of time to his Eucharistic Heart.

Won't you consider a sacrifice of time of an hour a week before his Eucharistic Face?  Several time slots are available for personal Adoration of Our Lord.  You can find those opportunities by going to our Adoration website and  clicking "Weekly Commitment".

Stronger Interior Life

Let Communion Nourish Your Interior Life

We all know that to successfully grow flowers, the essential thing is to keep them fresh by watering the roots.  If the root dries, the plant will die.  Fertility depends on moisture.  The sun by itself does not make flowers bloom; its heat alone would make them wither, but it makes moisture fertile, active.  Therefore, to cultivate the flower of sanctity in our soul, we have to keep the roots fresh and moist, which means simply that we have to live the interior life.  Nature gives dew and rain to the earth.  The grace of God is the dew of the soul; given in abundance, it is a shower that floods it and makes it fruitful.

Mary Guides His Church

Just before His ascension into heaven, Our Lord said to His followers:  "It is now time that as true and faithful disciples you become teachers of the Faith to all men.  I am about to ascend to My Father.  But I leave with you in My stead My own Mother as your Protectress, Consoler and Advocate, and as your Mother whom you are to hear and obey in all things.  He who knows My Mother knows Me.  He who hears her hears Me.  And who honors her honors Me."

Adoration Subs During Winter Months

As we experience winter weather some of our older Adorers may have difficulty traveling to fulfill their Adoration commitment and will be asking for a substitute.  Some of these requests could be generated with short notice.

We currently have 74 people registered as a substitute for Adoration.  With that large number we shouldn’t have a problem filling a request for help - but we do - on occasion we have requests that are not filled.  It’s the old 80/20 rule.

If you told God you wanted to be part of His team by being a sub, I encourage you not to ignore your Adoration eMail.  Open it - read it - check your calendar, and if you are able - make a commitment.  That action WILL NOT go unrewarded.

Learn how to set the day of week and hours you are available to sub:
(this will limit the number of emails received for sub requests)
