Peace, Peace, I Will Give You Peace!

 Sitting silently in the presence of God is one of the most beautiful gifts He offers us.  Jesus tenderly and lovingly is      saying to us, “Just sit with Me”.  You don’t have to have a mental prayer running through your head, nor be reciting a litany from a prayer book, nor fingering your rosary beads.  Sit quietly, close your eyes, and know He is so close to you that if you could see Him you could reach out and touch Him.  Remember where Jesus is there also is God the Father and God the Holy Spirit, as well as the Church Triumphant.  How fortunate we are to be baptized into the Church Militant.

This week as you go about putting together the puzzle pieces to make sence of your schedule remember that you also need to have ‘Jesus time’.  If you would spend 10 or 15 minutes of Chapel Time once or twice a week in Eucharistic Adoration you will find His Peace.

Get Closer

 A Way To Become Holier

Every day is a chance.  Every hour an opportunity.  Every moment a precious gift.  Don’t waste your chance, opportunity or precious gift.  Spend them in the presence of God. That’s easier than you think because God is always with you; the problem is you’re not always with Him.  Say this short prayer at the beginning of every day and after a few days your awareness of his presence within will increase to the point you will have a desire to spend face time in His Real Presence.

“Dear Lord, I need your help today to be aware that you are always with me.  Thank you.”

Advent Gives You A Blessed Opportunity

This Advent, as at the beginning of all Advents, the Church encourages us to lift our heads, trust in Jesus’ saving love and make room for him in our hearts, to discover hope amidst life's’ anxieties.  As we begin the season of Advent we need to take time to spiritually prepare for Christmas and the coming of Our Lord.  In every direction we turn we will be reminded and encouraged to “prepare” for Jesus’ coming into the world and to remember the real meaning of Christmas.

Prayer is the secret of preparation.  One of the best ways to pray is to spend time in Eucharistic Adoration in our chapel.  A popular definition of ‘prayer’ is ‘relationship with God’.  What a beautiful thing it would be if at the end of the next four weeks you could honestly say your relationship with God had improved.  Find time in each of the next four weeks to go to the chapel and simply sit in the presence of God.  You don’t even have to have an agenda - a simple prayer such as ‘Jesus, please help me improve my relationship with you’ - then just sit back and while contemplating the Holy Eucharist let God do the work: Nothing else to do, except to say “Thank You God” before you leave.

“I am with you always …” and in his great and wonderful plan of salvation remember that he has been awaiting for you in his real presence for twenty centuries.

God Waits For You

He Waits For You!

Many people visit the Adoration Chapel to be able to sit quietly in the Presence of God and experience the solace of the surroundings during normal activities of the day.  Some adorers are ‘committed’; as such they have volunteered for a specific time each week.  You don’t have to be a ‘committed’ adorer to spend time in the chapel; you can visit when your schedule permits.  No matter when you go He is waiting for you and wants to hear about your life, your joys, your sorrows.  In His presence it’s a good time to recall how He was insulted, publicly humiliated, and suffered for us to save us from eternal damnation.  This is a time we can thank Him for what He did, tell Him how much we love Him, and give Him thanks for all the graces and blessings He gives us.  It is a time we can talk to Him as a friend who always has time to listen.

Adoration helps us grow through silence.  While sitting in his presence we grow spiritually and it doesn’t take long to experience these changes positively affecting our lives.  These changes improve our relationship with God, and as our relationship improves we find ourselves wanting to spend more time in His presence, and we begin looking for additional opportunities for chapel time.

Pope Francis in a recent Angelus said, “Through silence and prayer, we make space for Jesus”.

Our Lord personally told a Benedictine Monk:

"More good can be done in a single hour of adoration than in a hundred days of uninterrupted preaching and apostolic labors, for when you are with Me, I am working for you.  Time spent in My presence is not time lost.  It is the multiplication of time and the magnification of your limited strength into an energy that comes from Me, an energy by which I will do great things through you."

If you're not already scheduled for an hour each week in the presence of God, now may be the time to consider it and start reaping the benefits.  It's easier to do than most people think ... and you won't know unless you try.

What A Beautiful Place Just To Sit In The Presence Of God

 “Come Away And Rest Awhile”

Recently we heard in the Gospel “The Apostles gathered together with Jesus and reported all they had done and taught.  He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” People were coming and going in great numbers, and they had no opportunity even to eat.  So they went off in the boat by themselves to a deserted place.”  (Mk 6:30-32).  Sound a bit like your life?

When you need a quiet place to get away and rest a while, go to the Adoration Chapel.  There you will find the peace and quiet of God’s Love.
