Jesus Is the Example

 Jesus Is the Example

“We know Jesus prayed regularly.
And He bids us to do the same.  He tells us to share our troubles and concerns with God, to petition Him, to thank Him, and to praise Him for His many blessings, including life itself.  He encourages us to bring our shortcomings and sins to Him with contrite, humble hearts in times of prayer as well as in the sacrament of reconciliation.”
(The World According To God - F. X. Cronin)

Following Jesus’s example it’s important to find some quiet time and moments in the midst of our busy days to strengthen our relationship with God.  We need to learn to bless, praise, and openly call on God and the Holy Spirit to intervene in our lives so we can experience the peace that can come from spending time with our Eucharistic Lord.  This is not as hard as some think it is … God is Love … and the closer we get to Love the easier it gets to find those moments to strengthen our relationship with God.  The more you do it, the easier it becomes.

To Know Him Is To Love Him

To Know Him Is To Love Him

God wants us to know Him, not just merely know about Him.  He wants us to know Him personally, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, as a free decision of our will.  He wants us to know and love Him as sons and daughters should.  How do you measure up?

It’s not too late to make this your best lent ever.  If you need a little help, the best place to start is on your knees in the Adoration Chapel, and you will get to know Him better.

You Can Be An Instrument of Goodness

You Can Be An Instrument of Goodness

Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, is quoted as saying,“It is good to ‘waste time adoring’ Christ present in the Holy Eucharist”.  He urged all of us to devote ourselves to the prayer of adoration.  He added: It is good to adore in silence before the Most Blessed Sacrament, to be in the consoling presence of Jesus and there to draw the apostolic impetus to be instruments of goodness, tenderness and welcome in the community, the Church, and the world.

Won’t you waste some time in the presence of Our Lord in the Eucharist?

Eucharistic Peace of Heart

“The most powerful means of obtaining peace of heart is from Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament.  What are we saying?  We are saying that in order to obtain that self-mastery which is the precondition of internal peace, we need nothing less than God’s miraculous grace.

Today’s world is so filled with confusion that nothing less than supernatural grace can provide us with the peace of mind without there can be no peace of heart.  Where do we go; to whom do we turn; whom do we ask to give us that peace of mind which is so tragically wanting in the modern world?  Who alone can give us the serenity of spirit which is another name for peace of soul?  Who, but Jesus Christ the Prince of Peace.

We do not normally think of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament as food for the mind and the will but we should.  To be at peace, what we first need is to know the truth; what we next need is to do the will of God.  On both counts, Jesus in the Holy Eucharist is our principal source.”

(Fr John A. Hardon, SJ - Perpetual Adoration, True Peace in the World)

Lent is that time of the Church year when we are encouraged to work for supernatural grace that will give us peace of mind, leading to peace of heart.
