Sacrifice Increases Love

 Sacrifice For Love

When you love someone, you want that love to grow.  So what do you do to make sure it happens?  If you do nothing at all, what you love will diminish in importance until it vanishes from your life.  To prevent that from happening you go out of your way to give yourself to whatever comes first in that relationship - no matter what it is and no matter the cost.  This is what we mean by ‘sacrifice’.  It is not about “giving up things”; it is about whatever is possible in order to get as much love as we possibly can.  Sacrifice is the way we eagerly adjust our lives so that our greatest desires come true.

What are you willing to sacrifice to show God how much you love him?
Stop by the chapel and tell him.  He’s waiting!

Unique Love From All Eternity

 Unique Love From All Eternity

“My Heart is, at every moment, ready to welcome you.
I desire your presence.  I want the attention of your heart.  I want your friendship in response to the friendship I have offered you.”

“My Heart has a particular love for you, a love that My Father destined for you alone and for no other from all eternity.
How it grieves My Heart when the unique love I offer a soul is spurned, or ignored, or regarded with indifference!” (In Sinu Jesu  p26)

One way to express your love for Jesus is to offer Him an hour a week in the Adoration Chapel.
Become a committed Adorer by signing up for an hour through AdorationPro and show Jesus your love by your action.

Pray for Numbers

"I Am With You Always" (Mt 28:20).  With these words Jesus assures the disciples, and all of us, that He will walk with us throughout our life's journey.  Whether in triumph or tragedy, He is there.  Not only are we bathed in God's loving presence; as baptized we join the rest of the faithful to become the Body of Christ.  Together we pool our special gifts and unique talents to be present to one another and to fulfill the great commission.

Please pray during the month of March for an increase in the number of permanent Adorers to our chapel.  If you know of anyone interested please show them the scheduling page within www.adorationpro.org/ihmmi where they can see the hours where if they sign up can be of most help.

Pray Through Adoration

without ceasing

God is with us in many different ways but none more intimate than experiencing Him face-to-face in adoration.  Spending time with Jesus in His sacrament of Love will fill your heart with abiding joy and bless your days, your job, your families, your life with His protection and grace.  Each hour given to Our Lord bears fruit a hundredfold in this life and in the next.

St. Augustine is quoted as saying "He who created us without our help will not save us without our consent."  In other words - nothing happens until YOU do something.  Don't wait.  This is YOUR TIME to step up and PRAY.

Join your many fellow parishioners who have stepped up by spending an hour every week in the Adoration Chapel 'doing something'.  Commit to an hour each week and let God know you are seriously in-love with Him.

Our Guardian Angel

Padre Pio, during his lifetime, had a beautiful relationship with his guardian angel; often he would send his angel on errands as described in his biography - we could learn a lot from this relationship.

“Have great devotion … to this good angel.  How consoling it is to know that near us is a spirit who, from cradle to the tomb, does not leave us even for an instant, not even when we dare to sin.  And this heavenly spirit guides us and protects us as a friend, a brother/sister.  But it is extremely consoling to know that this angel prays without ceasing for us; offers to God all our good actions, our thoughts, our desires, if they are pure.  Do not forget this invisible companion, always present, always ready to listen to us and even more, ready to console us … Always keep your angel present to your mind’s eye.  Often remember the presence of this angel.  Thank your angel, pray to your angle, keep your angel good company.  Open yourself up to your angel and confide your suffering to your angel.  Have a constant fear of offending the purity of your angel's gaze … Turn to your angel in times of supreme anxiety and you will experience beneficial help.  Never say that you are alone in sustaining the battle against our enemies.  Never say you have nobody to whom you can open up and confide.  You would do this heavenly messenger a grave wrong.”

A good way to thank your angel for the support received is to take your angel to the Adoration Chapel.  Your Guardian Angel is always with you, so it stands that if you visit the Chapel, your angel too is in the presence of God in a very special way.  I have to believe that that favor received by your angel is returned to you a hundred fold.

Gods' Merciful Love

Everybody needs God.  It's not a question of being worthy or not.  The issue is ... will you, come into the Chapel and sit down with the One who joins all of us?  It's that joint endeavor - that joint sharing of the human condition with its joys and sorrows, its ordinariness, its profane character, its endless waiting, its deprivations - and not just our suffering ... but the experience of Adoration prayer that gradually educates us in what this prayer type really is:  an education and union in undeserved mercy.

Open Your Mind and Heart

"We may think of prayer as thoughts or feelings expressed in words. But this is only one expression. . . . Prayer is the opening of mind and heart—our whole being—to God, the Ultimate Mystery, beyond thoughts, words, and emotions. Through grace we open our awareness to God whom we know by faith is within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than choosing—closer than consciousness itself. "
    Thomas Keating

Practice opening your mind and heart to God while spending an hour in Adoration at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Adoration Chapel.

Become More Like Christ

As we deepen our personal relationship with Jesus by spending time with Him in Eucharistic Adoration we become more like Him, just as old friends or a long-married couple grow more and more similar.  We become more aware of the obstacles of sin in our life that stand between us and Our Lord.  We develop a stronger desire to make habits of virtue and self-sacrifice in imitation of Him.

If you are not a regular Adorer, maybe now is the time to bring your Jesus relationship to a new level?  Jesus is in the chapel waiting for YOU.

Don't Doubt Your Ability to Honor Your Commitment to Adoration

Don't be afraid to sign up for an hour of Adoration every week.  Trust in the Lord and all will be well.
St. Paul in his letter to the Corinthians says "You can trust God not to let you be tried beyond your strength, and with any trial he will give you a way out of it and the strength to bear it."  (1 Cor 10:13)

Day and night Jesus dwells in the Blessed Sacrament BECAUSE OF HIS INFINITE LOVE FOR US!  "Behold I will be with you always even to the end of the world," because "I have loved you with an everlasting love, and constant is my affection for you."  (Mt 28:20; Her 31:3)

The specific way the Jesus asks you to love Him in return is to spend ONE QUIET HOUR WITH HIM EACH WEEK in the Blessed Sacrament.  "Where your treasure is, there is your heart ..."  "Could you not watch one hour with Me?" (Mt 6:21; 26:40)

The reward for your investment of 'time' will be heavenly, both in this life and in the next.

IHM Adoration

Cultivating a Eucharistic life of Adoration also bears tremendous fruit in our own hearts and lives.  We cannot spend time in the rays of His Eucharistic Presence without receiving His grace His love, His mercy, His peace.  As we gaze upon Him Face to face, we are transformed little by little into a closer reflection of His divine image.  When we deepen our personal relationship with Jesus by spending time with Him in this way, we will become more like Him, just as old friends or a long-married couple grow more and more familiar.  We become more aware of the obstacles of sin in our life that stand between us and Our Lord.  We develop a stronger desire to make habits of virtue and self-sacrifice in imitation of Him.

Won't you join the every growing number of scheduled Adorers and take advantage of the tremendous gifts God is offering us through this practice.

You Have Adoration Questions?

Adoration Committee members will be in the back of church after all Masses the weekend of Sept 15 and 16 to answer questions about Adoration or the AdorationPro software.

We encourage you to stop; get your questions answered; and if so moved to sign up for your personal hour with God.

AdorationPro will be 'live' so we can answer questions and show you how it works.  We will also be able to demo the 'find a sub' module which is a valuable tool when you are in need of finding someone to cover your chapel hour when scheduling prevents you from being there.

There is no greater privilege for anyone then being able to personally talk with and speak into the ear of God
