St. Augustine is quoted as saying, “He who created us without our help will not save us without our consent.”  In other words - nothing will happen until YOU do something. This is your time to step up and pray.

Join your fellow parishioners who have stepped up by spending an hour each week in the Adoration Chapel ‘doing something’.  Commit to just an hour each week ( 1/168th of your week) and let God know you are seriously in-love with Him.  Returning Love to Our Lord will fill your heart with abiding joy and bless your days, your job, your families, you life with His protection and grace.  Each hour given to Our Lord bears fruit a hundredfold in this life and in the next.

Don’t wait - Advent is the perfect time to start.

Pray In His True Presence

Face-to-Face with God

Praying silently before the Blessed Sacrament in the Adoration Chapel is a time to speak intimately with Our Lord, who makes himself present to us in a uniquely intimate way.  As an audience before the King of the Universe and the court of heaven, we ARE listened to, assisted, and graced with his abiding love.  (DCN Bob Calleja - Divine Child/Dearborn MI)

So if you ever wonder if Our Lord hears you when you pray why not visit him in the chapel where he is truly present Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity and praying sitting face-to-face in his presence you know he cannot help but hear your every word.

Source of Unlimited Grace

“Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament has His hands full of graces and He is ready to bestow them on anyone who asks for them”  (St Peter of Alcantara).  Our Lord Jesus Christ wants us to come and visit Him at our local Catholic Church and make a “Holy Hour” (an hour spent in Eucharistic Adoration) whenever we can.  The Eucharist is the Real Presence of Jesus: He is present body, blood, soul and divinity.  He is our Savior and our Friend.  What a joy it is to spend time with Him!

Venerable Fulton J. Sheen enthusiastically promoted the making of Holy Hours during his lifetime.  He stated, “During a Holy Hour we grow more and more into His (Christ’s) likeness.”  He also remarked, “The only time our Lord asked the Apostles for anything was the night He went into agony.  Not for activity did He plead, but for an Hour of companionship.”

Fatima Anniversary

 First Apparition of Our Lady of Fatima

Beginning May 13, 1917, Our Lady appeared six times to the 3 shepherd children at Fatima.  Each time she appeared she stressed the importance of saying the Rosary on a daily basis.  When we say the Rosary, Mary herself helps us to deepen our relationship with her Divine Son Jesus.  The Rosary is a powerful way we can turn to Mary with our needs and petitions.  Sister Lucia, one of the 3 children, said “there is no problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary.”

One of the best places to pray the Rosary is in our Adoration Chapel where we find the Real Presence of Our Lord and His Mother.  It is also where you can listen and hear what God has to say to you by simply sitting in His Silence.

Why go to church or a chapel with the Blessed Sacrament to pray?  Why can’t I just pray at home?

The main reason is because it speaks volumes of love to Our Lord.  You know the saying about ‘actions & words’.  “Of all devotions, that of adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the greatest after the sacraments, the one dearest to God and the one most helpful to us” (St Alphonsus Liguori).  Jesus made it clear in Gethsemane that the presence of His friends brought comfort. (Mt 26:38)  In His humanity, He likes to be with those He loves as much as we love to be with family.  Texting, phone calls, or face-time are all nice, but they don’t compete with actually being together.

Jesus manifests His great love for us by being Truly Present.  He humbles Himself to become our food, and by waiting patiently in the monstrance in the hope that we’ll come and visit Him.  He’s called the “Prisoner of Love”, for He’s chosen too imprison Himself thus for us.  This is the one corporal work of mercy we can perform directly for Jesus: visit the imprisoned.

Solemnity of Mary

This weekend we celebrate The Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God.  The word 'solemnity' is not used to define Mary's personality, but rather it's a designation used for certain days within the church calendar to designate the highest rank of liturgical celebration, higher than feast days or memorials.

By raising the celebration of Mary's motherhood to a 'Solemnity' the church is saying to us that it places the highest significance of her role in the life of Christ.  Jesus Himself tells us of the importance of Mary's role as He is reported to have said to Ven. Mother Mary of Agreda: "Many mysteries pertaining to My Mother ... are still hidden, especially the interior secrets of her life, and these I wish now to make known.  I desire to make known to mortals how much her intercession is worth.  If men would now seek to please Me by reverencing, believing, and studying the wonders which are intimately connected with this Mother of Piety, and if they would all begin to solicit her intercession from their whole heart, the world would find some relief."

You can add to your knowledge about the mysteries of Mary and how to solicit her help to improve your relationship with her Divine Son by spending an hour a week in our Adoration Chapel.  

All you have to do is go and sit quietly in His presence and listen ... God will do all the work

What Will You Say to Him When You Finally See Him Face to Face?

We are all encouraged to pray before the Real Presence of Our Lord in the Holy Eucharist as frequently as we can.  Not only for our temporal welfare, but also for the salvation of our soul.  Eucharistic Adoration “is one of the most practical things you can possibly do to improve your God relationship.  For there will come a day, sooner than you wish, when you will be alone with Him and unable to return to your friends or your family or your home or the pleasures of the world, ever again.  You will be alone with Christ at the border of eternity.  Why wait until that momentous moment to be alone with Him?”  Why not practice?  (Jesus-shock p147)
