You Have The Power To Forgive

You To Have The Power To Forgive

As Jesus was on the cross, He looked at the men who had crucified Him with love.  He cried out to His heavenly Father and begged not for revenge, or even justice, but mercy.  We need to take a few moments to contemplate the words Jesus used because something of His power to forgive is imparted to us.  “Father, forgive them, they know not what they do.”  It’s very difficult to forgive by ourselves, but as we contemplate our Lord on the Cross, we can ask for the grace to forgive so that we are able to say, “Father, forgive them for what they have done.”(Fr. Joseph Mary Wolfe, MFVA)

As we work this week to find a way to grow closer to Jesus you’re encouraged to spend time in the Adoration Chapel. Jesus is present body, blood, soul and divinity and waiting for you.
This is the same Jesus who celebrated Passover Thursday night, the same Jesus who hung on the cross Friday, and the same Jesus who rose from the dead Sunday.  Think about it … get your heart around it and know ~ God is here.

If Only You Could Touch His Cloak

If Only You Could Touch His Cloak

Whenever we receive the Eucharist we touch Jesus and Jesus touches us.  Truly, we physically touch each other.  What was once bread has been changed into Jesus Himself.  He didn’t just rise from the dead two thousand years ago.  He is risen, and is present to us in these moments.  That small white wafer is not a symbol but is His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity within us.  By having Jesus closer than close we give him the opportunity to make us better people from the inside out.  With a better understanding of this mystery comes the realization of how blessed and fortunate we are to be the sons and daughters of God and able too often enter into physical contact with him.

Recall the Bible story of the women who had suffered with hemorrhages for twelve years and the tremendous faith she had that if only she could touch his clothes she would be cured.
(Mark 5:25-28)  Her faith moved her to want to touch him just once in her lifetime.  We have the opportunity to touch him almost daily.

Visit the Adoration Chapel.  Ask Jesus to increase your faith so that you can have a better understanding of the privileges of being a son or daughter of God.

Next time you’re in the chapel, pray for greater awareness of Jesus in your life.
He won’t disappoint because He promised to always be us.  The only question left: Will you choose to be with Him?

Pray In His True Presence

Face-to-Face with God

Praying silently before the Blessed Sacrament in the Adoration Chapel is a time to speak intimately with Our Lord, who makes himself present to us in a uniquely intimate way.  As an audience before the King of the Universe and the court of heaven, we ARE listened to, assisted, and graced with his abiding love.  (DCN Bob Calleja - Divine Child/Dearborn MI)

So if you ever wonder if Our Lord hears you when you pray why not visit him in the chapel where he is truly present Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity and praying sitting face-to-face in his presence you know he cannot help but hear your every word.

Make Better

 To Make Better

Our human condition often gets in the way of fully realizing how important it is to our spiritual well being to spend time in the true presence of the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord and God.  Unfortunately, we may not fully realize its importance until we’re standing face to face before our Lord.  When that time comes I hope we’re all able to say ‘I tried to use every opportunity You gave me to better our relationship and to prepare myself for eternal life with You.’

The New Year not only gives us the opportunity to evaluate our physical lives and commit to change that hopefully will make us better people; it also gives us the opportunity to evaluate our spiritual lives and make changes where we can improve our relationship with God.  ‘Change’ can start in the Adoration Chapel.  If you’re not a regular, why not give it a try.

Adoration is:  “The experience of Christs’ peaceful presence.”

The Queenship of Mary

 The Queenship of Mary

August 22nd is the Memorial of the Queenship of the Blessed Mother.

"Mary was assumed into heaven and at the throne of the Holy Trinity the three Divine Persons received and welcomed her in a mystical embrace of eternal love, after she had bowed before Them in deep humility and reverence.  She was attired in a marvelous sparkling robe that trailed behind her and scintillated with multicolored iridescence.

Then the Eternal Father announced to all the angels and saints:

"Our Daughter Mary has been chosen by Our Will from among all creatures as the first in Our favor, and she has never fallen from the position of a true Daughter.  Therefore she has a claim to Our Kingdom, of which she is to be acknowledged and crowned the lawful Sovereign and Queen."

The Life of Mary As Seen By The Mystics  p253

Our Lady was the first holy tabernacle of the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, really, truly, wholly and entirely present in her by His incarnation.  Hope you are able to spend time this week in Eucharistic Adoration following the example of our Heavenly Mother.

Listen to God in the Silence

Silence is the Language of God

“There is nothing like the atmosphere of a quiet chapel and the splendor of the monstrance to help you understand the truth of what is happening in Adoration. We are truly before Jesus Christ, His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. The more you sink into that silence in front of the Host, the more you’ll realize that the only response is awe and wonder at the greatness of our God.”   (Ruth Kennedy - CatholicLink)

If you don’t spend time in our chapel you may be missing a life altering event.

All are welcome!
